Onboarding & verification01Select your carbon sink
Identify and select your carbon sink — a forest, wetland, marine area and so on — and provide the requested information package and the geo-location of the area to OXÏ-ZEN. We perform an initial carbon absorption assessment using satellite data linked to the Global Carbon Sink Model.
Onboarding & verification02Prepare for audit
The audit protocol is executed in situ by independent third-party auditors, who confirm a range of parameters — including legal ownership of the carbon sink, the physical carbon sink inventory, soil analysis and more.
Onboarding & verification03Confirmation of CO₂ absorption capacity
OXÏ-ZEN performs a full CO₂ absorption analysis using the latest peer-reviewed scientific methods, and provides data updates for the Global Sink Model. You receive an OXÏ-Report with full details of the analysis, along with your verified carbon sequestering capacity over the previous 12 months.
Trading04Choose your price
The verified carbon sequestration, in metric tons of CO₂, is converted into GAYA. Your OXÏ-ZEN account is credited with GAYA, opened for trade, and made available for sale to Emitters. Each Convertor chooses their own sale price, guided by the current spot market price of carbon.
Trading05Generate revenue
You receive 95% of the sales price, in USD, for every GAYA sold to an Emitter.
Trading06Realise your SDG programme
These revenues can be used directly to realise your Sustainable Development Goals — protecting and enhancing natural carbon sinks, while improving quality of life with positive social impact.
Renewal07Next 12-month cycle
At the end of 12 months, the next OXÏ-Report is issued after a complete assessment and verification of your carbon sequestering capacity over the previous 12 months — using GIS, satellite data and updated physical data from inspections and a revised audit. This capacity is then available for sale over the next 12 months.
The 12-month monitoring and verification process starts as soon as you are on-boarded and opened for trade. New GAYA are issued, which you can trade for the next twelve months — representing your new and updated CO₂ absorption capacity.
